St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner and has me thinking about shamrocks and four leaf clovers. The rare-in-real-life four leaf clover is known all over the world for bringing good luck and good fortune to the person who finds one. There is no clover to hunt through in my snow covered yard so I thought I would make up some luck of my own.
Last Friday when the snow was flying and I was hibernating inside, I drafted a pattern for little mitts I thought my granddaughter would like. After a little tweaking, the mitts turned out really cute. Even at age 8 kids like to have fingers free for 'screens'. Each child's mitt is just a bit bigger than a gauge swatch so they use little yarn and knit up fast.
My sister Maria, who lives in New York City, got wind of the project and requested a pair in black. New Yorkers love to wear black. Sometimes if they are feeling especially flamboyant, they will wear gray. So I choose black and gray for hers.
